Luke Littler has disclosed that Mensur Suljovic predicted their meeting in the third round of the ongoing World Darts Championship. Littler, aged 18, advanced in the tournament by defeating Welsh player David Davies in straight sets.
Despite facing initial competition from Gerwyn Price in his draw, Littler remains a strong contender for victory at Alexandra Palace, as Price was eliminated by Wesley Plaisier. Suljovic, on the other hand, triumphed over Joe Cullen in a contentious match characterized by a slow pace that left Cullen visibly frustrated.
Prior to the championship, Suljovic had already set his sights on facing Littler. Following his win over Davies, Littler shared a playful text message he received from Suljovic, expressing anticipation for their upcoming clash.
As the competition progresses, tension between players heightens, as seen in Cullen’s displeasure with Suljovic’s playing style. Cullen’s public criticism of Suljovic’s tactics further intensified the rivalry between the players.
Littler’s path to the final appears promising, with potential tough opponents like Ryan Joyce and Chris Dobey being eliminated in recent matches. The PDC World Darts Championship commenced on December 11, with live coverage available exclusively on Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle.
