Rapper and Netflix personality Ghetts faced charges in court related to an incident of alleged death by dangerous driving. The renowned grime artist, known as Justin Clarke-Samuel, is accused of striking a pedestrian in east London and failing to stop at the scene.

The victim, Yubin Tamang, aged 20, was hit on Redbridge Lane in Ilford around 11:33 pm on October 18, according to statements presented at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court. Authorities visited Ghetts’ residence early on October 19, as disclosed by prosecutor Varinder Hayre.

Appearing at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court dressed in a grey prison tracksuit, the 41-year-old musician, who remains in custody, was initially charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The charge was later revised following Mr. Tamang’s death on October 20, prompting Ghetts to confirm his personal details in court.

Remanded in custody, Ghetts is scheduled to reappear at the Old Bailey on November 24.
