JLS member Oritse Williams’ young son has been admitted to the hospital with suspected meningitis. The singer and his wife, Kazz, welcomed their son, Shiva, last year after a challenging pregnancy.
Recently, the 38-year-old revealed that Shiva has been in and out of the hospital due to poor health. A recent hospitalization caused significant worry for the parents as medical professionals mentioned meningitis and sepsis as potential concerns. Oritse shared that constant vigilance is required for Shiva’s care, particularly with Kazz experiencing anxiety following two earlier miscarriages.
Describing Shiva as their “miracle baby,” Oritse expressed profound fear whenever he falls ill due to their past experiences. He recounted a recent incident where Shiva was readmitted to the hospital due to a viral infection, leading to high temperatures and concerns about meningitis and sepsis, prompting him to leave tour rehearsals to be with his family.
The NHS notes that meningitis symptoms can manifest in various ways, such as a rash, high temperature, vomiting, and breathing difficulties. Babies may exhibit additional signs like irritability, a high-pitched cry, or a stiff body.
JLS is scheduled to commence their tour, The Club Is Alive: 2025 Hits Tour, on November 6 in Glasgow, Scotland, followed by performances across the United Kingdom.
Last year, Oritse shared their pregnancy news, expressing gratitude and admiration for his wife’s strength and resilience. In subsequent interviews, he joyfully discussed his newborn son and the challenges they faced during the pregnancy.
Kazz also reflected on her pregnancy, highlighting her struggles with anxiety and gestational diabetes, which required dietary adjustments. She praised Oritse for his support and care during this time.
The article was updated to clarify that Oritse did not speak to The Sun regarding his son’s health but made public statements about the situation.
