Introducing Fitbit Air: Minimalist Design, Maximum Comfort

Fitbit, a brand known for promoting physical activity for over 15 years, has introduced a new product under Google’s ownership called the Fitbit Air. Unlike traditional Fitbit models, the Fitbit Air lacks a screen and resembles popular Whoop bands in appearance, offering a sleek and minimalist design that can be worn like a bracelet.

Although the Fitbit Air does not feature functions like message notifications or heart rate monitoring on the device itself, it boasts several advantages. It provides enhanced comfort due to its bracelet-style strap, as affirmed by a recent study conducted by Google, which rated it as more comfortable than its competitors.

The Fitbit Air ensures a week-long battery life, eliminating the need for frequent charging. Additionally, it supports fast charging, offering a day’s worth of power in just five minutes. The device comes with a magnetic charger featuring bi-directional technology, allowing for easy recharging without worrying about the orientation.

Despite its minimalist design, the Fitbit Air retains essential Fitbit functionalities, such as monitoring sleep patterns, activity levels, exercise routines, heart rate, and detecting conditions like AFib through irregular heart rhythm alerts. It incorporates various sensors like an optical heart rate monitor, a gyroscope, and red and infrared sensors for oxygen saturation and temperature monitoring.

Since the Fitbit Air lacks a display, all data is transmitted directly to smartphones, where the Google Health Coach app can provide a comprehensive overview of the user’s health status. The device is fully water-resistant up to 50 meters and will be available in four color options, including Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender.

The Fitbit Air is set to be priced at £84.99 when it becomes available for purchase, offering an affordable and convenient fitness tracking solution.
