Dean Gaffney, the well-known actor from EastEnders, has entered a new romantic relationship with a Harvard graduate whom he met through mutual acquaintances. Despite admitting that his new partner is not his usual type, their bond appears to be growing stronger.
The 47-year-old actor is said to be dating Kate Black, a 31-year-old individual who pursued a degree in international relations at Harvard University and furthered her education by studying artificial intelligence at the University of York.
Their paths crossed in April this year, shortly after Kate’s breakup with her previous boyfriend. The couple was recently spotted vacationing together in Ibiza.
According to a source, Dean is captivated by Kate, even though she differs from his usual dating preferences. The insider mentioned to The Sun that while Dean typically gravitates towards outgoing individuals, Kate is more inclined towards a quieter lifestyle. Despite this contrast, they share a strong connection due to Kate’s intelligence, work ethic, and ambition.
Dean gained fame for his portrayal of Robbie Jackson on EastEnders, a role he played intermittently since 1993. Additionally, he made appearances in other productions, including The Bill in 2006.
His diverse acting career has seen him tour with the Agatha Christie Theatre Company in 2007 and perform in pantomimes like The Unexpected Guest in 2011 and Aladdin in 2015. Notably, he participated in the reality show I’m a Celebrity… South Africa in 2023, marking his second stint in a jungle environment.
Currently, Dean is starring in the action film “Reckless” alongside Vinnie Jones, a project that was released this year. The movie’s plot revolves around a former convict on parole who must outsmart the police to secure his share of an old heist.
The Mirror has reached out to Dean’s representatives for comments on the recent developments.
