The National Lottery draw came to a sudden stop due to a technical issue, causing confusion among viewers of the live broadcast. Allwyn, the operator, disclosed that the Saturday night’s Lotto draw was halted because the bonus ball did not drop as expected. They assured that the draw would recommence promptly using a new machine and overseen by an independent adjudicator.
The live stream abruptly ended just before the bonus ball selection was made around 8 pm, citing technical difficulties. The winning Lotto numbers for the night were announced as 04, 09, 28, 40, 42, 59, with the Bonus Ball being 55, carrying an estimated jackpot of £10.5 million.
Additionally, the winning Thunderball numbers for the National Lottery were revealed as 09, 11, 13, 28, 34, with the Thunderball number being 13.
A statement from the National Lottery explained the pause in the draw, stating it was due to the bonus ball issue, and reassuring that the draw would resume promptly under strict supervision.
Reports from the online fault reporting service Downdetector indicated a surge in problem reports coinciding with the 8 pm draw time. Last Friday’s £45 million Euromillions draw had no jackpot winners, with the main EuroMillions numbers being 07, 08, 25, 31, 45, and the Lucky Star numbers as 07, 12.
Looking ahead, Tuesday’s jackpot is anticipated to reach £54 million.
