Reflecting on that challenging time, the now 83-year-old Paul McCartney admitted that transitioning from the Beatles, which had been his life’s focus for so long, was a daunting task. He expressed uncertainty about his future endeavors, pondering whether to continue with music or pursue a different path.

Despite the initial difficulties, Paul managed to maintain his musical success with Wings, carrying forward the acclaim he had achieved with the Beatles. His popularity endured into the 2000s and beyond, highlighted by his Grammy win for Record of the Year in 2025.

In a groundbreaking move, Paul McCartney utilized artificial intelligence to extract John Lennon’s voice from a 1978 home demo for the 2023 single ‘Now and Then,’ making it the first AI-assisted track to win a Grammy. However, Paul raised concerns about the technology’s potential exploitation of artists and emphasized the importance of protecting creators’ rights.

During a conversation with the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg, Paul warned against the risks of AI creating an environment where artists are vulnerable to exploitation. He stressed the need for fair compensation for creative work and the importance of safeguarding artists’ rights in the ever-evolving music industry landscape.
