The Prince has given up his Duke of York title amidst ongoing controversy related to his association with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. Despite vehemently denying all allegations against him, Andrew’s official royal family designation now solely refers to him as ‘Prince Andrew’.

Previously, when Prince Andrew stepped back from his royal duties in 2019 following various scandals, his website, TheDukeofYork.org, was redirected to the royal family’s official site. However, the dormant website has resurfaced, now in Vietnamese instead of English, leading to speculation that this may be linked to the removal of Andrew’s titles causing a break in the redirection link.

While Andrew has voluntarily relinquished his royal titles and honors granted by Queen Elizabeth, only an Act of Parliament can officially strip him of the Duke of York title. Concurrently, discussions are reportedly underway regarding Andrew’s potential voluntary departure from his Royal Lodge residence due to the controversy surrounding the minimal rent he pays for the property.

Amidst discussions with the Palace about his exit, Andrew is said to be hesitant to leave his long-held residence, with negotiations focusing on the location of his new home and financial compensation for lodge renovations. Additionally, there are talks about Andrew potentially moving to Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson planning to relocate to Adelaide Cottage once William and Kate move to Forest Lodge.

Parliament members are anticipated to debate Prince Andrew’s behavior, his mansion, and the prospect of revoking his dukedom. At present, there is no set time for these discussions in the House of Commons, but the matter may arise when ministers do not control the parliamentary schedule. In a significant announcement, Andrew stated his decision to return his royal titles and honors due to the ongoing distractions caused by the accusations against him, which he denies.
