An individual accused of the murder of a British woman he met on a fetish platform reportedly purchased several disturbing items from Walmart before meeting her at the airport.

Reportedly, Dwain Hall, aged 53, connected with Sonia Exelby, aged 32, from Portsmouth, as they discussed her arrival in Florida for potential torture and harm. Authorities in the US discovered Exelby’s body in a shallow grave in Marion County a week after her October 10 arrival.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Exelby had sustained fatal stab wounds with a knife. Hall faces charges of kidnapping and first-degree murder, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

According to an affidavit used as legal evidence, Hall initially denied knowing Sonia but later confessed to picking her up and driving her to an Airbnb. Records, including license plate readers, showed Hall’s vehicle at Gainesville airport around Sonia’s arrival time.

Bank records and surveillance footage indicated Hall’s purchases at Walmart, which included paracord, gun cleaner, rope, and Lume spray. He later returned to buy a shovel.

Documents from the arrest revealed that Sonia had left evidence on her computer suggesting suicidal intentions and a trip to the US for possible abuse and harm. Hall allegedly admitted to discussions with Sonia about bondage, suicide, and her wish for someone to end her life.

On October 17, Hall was apprehended after attempting to use Sonia’s credit cards to withdraw funds. When questioned, he claimed to have been the last person to see Sonia alive and offered assistance.

Hall suggested that he could have taken Sonia to a location with wildlife that could harm her. He did not disclose Sonia’s fate and declined to confirm if he was involved in her death. Hall’s next court appearance is scheduled for December 23.
