Simple Plan, a Canadian rock band, is set to launch a new picture book titled “I’m Just A Kid.” Scheduled for release on March 9, 2027, the book is inspired by the band’s popular song of the same name. “I’m Just A Kid” narrates the band’s journey, starting from their modest beginnings at a school talent show. Illustrated by Jomike Tejido from the Philippines, the book emphasizes the significance of friendship and perseverance in pursuing dreams.

Expressing their enthusiasm for the project, Simple Plan shared that crafting the book was a delightful and fulfilling experience, particularly as they cherish the tradition of reading bedtime stories to their children. Formed in 1999 in Montreal, Simple Plan has amassed a fan base of over 10 million and is recognized for hits like “Welcome to My Life,” “Perfect,” and “Jet Lag.” The band comprises Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Jeff Stinco, and Sébastien Lefebvre.

Chuck Comeau, the band’s drummer, supported “Homes” by Abu Bakr al Rabeeah and Winnie Yeung during Canada Reads 2019. The unveiling of “I’m Just A Kid” aligns with the 25th anniversary of Simple Plan’s debut album, “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls!,” commemorating the band’s journey and the unwavering support of their fans. In a statement, the band noted the evolution of their fan base into parents and the unique connection formed as they embark on new life chapters.

Furthermore, for each copy of “I’m Just A Kid” purchased, Simple Plan pledges to donate $1 to the Simple Plan Foundation, which aids charities assisting disadvantaged youth.
