The upcoming Polaris Music Prize event on Sept. 22 has unveiled new additions. The shortlisted duo Angine de Poitrine from Saguenay, Que., will be performing, and two-time winner Jeremy Dutcher will make a special guest appearance.

Scheduled to be held at Toronto’s Massey Hall, the event will reveal the 2026 winner. The evening’s lineup includes performances by shortlisted artists Aquakultre, Charlotte Cornfield, Begonia, Bibi Club, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Elizabeth Copeland, Les Louanges, and Tanya Tagaq. Additionally, electropunk band Slash Need will be interpreting the shortlisted album “No Lube So Rude” by Peaches, who will not be performing as she will be on tour in Baltimore that night.

CBC Music’s Odario Williams, host of “Afterdark,” will be the evening’s host. Highlights from the event will be available on CBC Music’s YouTube channel the next day, with the full show to follow at a later date.

The final episode of “The Ten,” a summer special series examining each of the shortlisted albums, will air on Sunday, Sept. 20, focusing on Aquakultre’s “1783.” Hosted by Williams, the episode will air on CBC Music and CBC Listen at 6 p.m. (6:30 p.m. in NL), with past episodes accessible via the CBC Listen app.

The Polaris Music Prize also features ongoing festival programming in Toronto, including a listening party with Aquakultre on Sept. 19, a free waterfront concert with Savannah Ré on the same day, a café chat with Beverly Glenn-Copeland and Elizabeth Copeland on Sept. 20, a free waterfront concert with Julianna Riolino on Sept. 20, and more.
