Canada’s head coach, Cindy Tye, announced the lineup for the upcoming under-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland next month. The team comprises 21 players, featuring three goalkeepers, five defenders, eight midfielders, and five forwards for the tournament scheduled from September 5 to 27.
Additionally, six alternates will accompany the squad to Poland to assist in preparations before the World Cup commences. The team, including players, coaches, and staff, will convene in Lublin, Poland, on August 23 and then transition to their tournament base camp in Bielsko-Biala on August 30. A closed-door match against Spain is planned for August 31.
Canada, among the 24 participating nations, is placed in Group B and will kick off the competition against England on September 5, followed by a match against Brazil on September 8. The group stage will conclude with a game against Tanzania on September 11.
The Canadian team secured their spot in the U-20 World Cup following their victory at the 2025 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship, clinching the regional title for the third time.
Coach Tye expressed the team’s excitement, acknowledging the challenges of the upcoming World Cup while emphasizing the importance of embracing the competition and representing Canada with confidence on the global stage.
