Alanis Morissette has revealed her upcoming album, “Good Weather for Immaculate Conception,” which will feature a mix of cover songs and original holiday tracks. Scheduled for release on November 6, the album will include collaborations with artists such as Brandi Carlile, Joy Oladokun, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Trans Voices. The debut single from the album, “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem,” featuring Carlile and Martin, is already available.
Among the covers featured on the album are traditional carols like “O Holy Night,” Wham!’s “Last Christmas,” and Joni Mitchell’s “River.” Additionally, Morissette will present new original songs titled “Christmas on the Dance Floor” and “To An Empath at Christmas Time.”
Morissette expressed her excitement for the album during an interview with Alex Cooper on an episode of “Call Her Daddy,” describing it as a heartfelt project that embodies the spirit of Christmas. While her last album was “Such Pretty Forks in the Road” released in 2020, Morissette has remained active in the music scene by headlining the Calgary Stampede in July and joining Olivia Rodrigo on stage at her Daisy Chain Fields festival in August.
Notably, Rodrigo had the honor of inducting Morissette into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2022, showcasing the mutual respect between the two talented artists.
