Miyu Yamashita had a triumphant debut in Canada, securing victory at the CPKC Women’s Open in Edmonton. The 25-year-old Japanese golfer claimed her fourth LPGA Tour win and second of the year with an impressive performance at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club. Yamashita shot a remarkable 4-under-par 66 in the final round, finishing the $2.75 million US tournament at 23 under.

Maintaining a six-stroke lead after three rounds, Yamashita outplayed her compatriot Yuri Yoshida, who finished as the runner-up at 14 under. Expressing her joy at winning in Canada, Yamashita thanked the supportive crowd and enjoyed her play throughout the week.

Standing at just four-foot-11, Yamashita previously won the Meijer LPGA Classic and had victories at the Women’s British Open and Maybank Championship in 2025, earning her the title of rookie of the year. She became the fastest Japanese player to achieve four LPGA wins, and her four-day score of 257 in Edmonton equaled the lowest ever on the LPGA Tour.

In a notable Canadian performance, Anna Huang from Vancouver finished as the top Canadian, tying for fourth with a 5-under 65. Calgary’s Aphrodite Deng tied for seventh at 11 under, also securing the low amateur title for the second consecutive year. Two-time winner Brooke Henderson finished tied for 13th at 7 under.

Huang, a 17-year-old, had her fourth European Tour win in August and made the cut at the CPKC Women’s Open. Both Huang and Deng’s top-10 finishes grant them entry into the LPGA’s FM Championship in Massachusetts.

World No. 1 Nelly Korda finished 1 under for the tournament, while Henderson faced challenges with the rough and missed opportunities on the greens. Despite a few setbacks, Henderson remained positive about her performance and looked forward to the upcoming events.

The 2027 CPKC Women’s Open is scheduled to take place at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Gatineau, Quebec.
