“Brave Boy Thrives After Tate Modern Attack”

The family of a young boy who was thrown from the 10th floor of an art gallery in London six years ago has provided an uplifting update. The French child, who was six at the time, suffered severe injuries after being thrown by teenager Jonty Bravery at the Tate Modern. Despite enduring life-changing injuries, the boy has made remarkable progress, as shared by his family. He can now run, jump, and swim again, showcasing significant improvement.

Referred to as the ‘Little Knight’ by his family, the boy recently achieved a personal goal of cycling from his home to the seaside, a journey that took 2.5 hours to complete. Although he is scheduled for another major operation early next year, requiring a two-month recovery period, he has regained mobility and physical abilities.

His family recounted an emotional moment during the summer when he practiced riding his tricycle with his father’s support, culminating in a successful trip to the beach and back. Despite ongoing memory challenges, his cognitive skills are gradually improving, enabling him to interact more with other children. With the help of a psychomotor therapist, he has learned to relax and manage physical discomfort better.

The boy, who still requires intensive rehabilitation sessions, attends a school that accommodates his health needs but can only participate in half of the classes due to his strict rehab schedule. His family is actively seeking a school that can provide a full curriculum while supporting his rehabilitation requirements, even if it means relocating to a different area.

As his next operation approaches in early 2026, his family remains optimistic about his progress. Despite his apprehension, the surgeon’s reassurances based on his current advancements give hope for a better future post-surgery. The family has been updating his recovery journey on their GoFundMe page, which has raised over £476,000 to date.

Jonty Bravery, who was 17 at the time of the attack and in supported accommodation, was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted murder in 2020.
