A horse named Blowers made history in British racing by winning at the longest odds ever recorded. Trained by former Grand National-winning jockey Nigel Hawke, this five-year-old gelding had a poor track record with no prior wins.

Despite previous disappointing performances, including a significant loss in a point-to-point Flat race and being pulled up in a hurdles debut, Blowers defied expectations at Exeter. With jockey James Best leading the way, Blowers held off the favorite, On The Bayou, to secure a surprising victory at massive odds.

This remarkable win by Blowers broke a 35-year record in British racing, surpassing the previous longest-priced winner in 1990. Bookmaker Coral received 82 bets on Blowers, with the largest being a £2 each-way single bet.
