Anthony Joshua was hospitalized after being extricated from the wreckage of the SUV he was traveling in with a driver and other passengers. The crash was caused by a burst tire, leading to the vehicle swerving and colliding with a stationary lorry.
Authorities from the Ogun State police are conducting an investigation into the incident, while the FRSC has also provided updates on the matter. The FRSC shared images of the damaged SUV and the truck it collided with on their official platform.
The accompanying statement from the FRSC highlighted the details of the crash, stating that two individuals lost their lives, one was injured, and Anthony Joshua sustained minor injuries but survived. The injured victim received medical attention, and the deceased were taken to the morgue for further procedures by the Nigeria Police Motor Traffic Division.
The statement revealed that the crash was primarily caused by the vehicle exceeding the speed limit and attempting an unsafe overtaking maneuver.
