Hundreds of homes could receive complimentary supermarket vouchers valued at £300 to aid with living expenses. Surrey County Council is providing this assistance through the Household Support Fund, aimed at helping families in need. Residents of Surrey can apply for the Everyday Essentials E-Voucher scheme if they are facing challenges in affording basic necessities.
The vouchers can be used at various supermarkets such as Aldi, Asda, Farmfoods, Iceland, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and Waitrose. Eligibility for the scheme includes being a Surrey resident over 18 years old, having household savings below £2,000 on average over 90 days, and an annual household income under £27,007.50 before deductions.
Applicants must disclose their income details and household benefits. The voucher applications open monthly, with the next round starting on February 3. If the current window is missed, applications can be resubmitted from March 2. Residents outside Surrey should inquire with their local council for available support options.
Nottingham City Council is offering £100 vouchers to individuals on low incomes or benefits, with distribution ongoing until February 28, 2026. Wakefield Council is distributing food vouchers to low-income households receiving council tax support, while pensioners under Council Tax Support received £70 vouchers in November. Additional vouchers are forthcoming for other eligible households.
Blackpool Council is providing £200 energy assistance to households of one or two people and £300 for households of three or more, all experiencing financial difficulties. Claimants must demonstrate financial hardship and provide recent bank statements for all household members to access the support.
