Premier David Eby acknowledged the shortcomings in the emergency support services during his visit to Penticton. The government committed to reviewing the response to the wildfire and implementing improvements based on the lessons learned.

Wildfire researcher Kathryn McConnell pointed out common issues with emergency alert systems, such as overloaded communication channels and challenges in reaching residents during power outages. McConnell suggested exploring analog alert sirens as an additional method to reach people in remote areas with limited cell coverage.

McConnell stressed the importance of redundancy in emergency management systems to ensure effectiveness in various scenarios. She recommended having backup modes in place to supplement primary communication methods.
