Quiz Fashion Retailer Enters Administration, Closes Online Store

Fashion retailer Quiz has gone into administration, resulting in the loss of 109 jobs. The company is making redundancies at its head office in Glasgow and warehouse in Lanarkshire. The Quiz website has been shut down, and customers are being informed that any online orders not yet shipped will be canceled.

Customers who have not received their orders will not be issued refunds by Quiz. Instead, they are advised to contact their bank or credit card provider for reimbursement. For credit card purchases exceeding £100, consumers may be eligible for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Those who paid with a debit card or for items under £100 on a credit card within the last 120 days may be able to utilize Chargeback for a refund.

Alternatively, Quiz suggests that customers can exchange unwanted items at physical stores for products of equal value. The company’s online store has been closed, as stated in a notice on their website.

Quiz stores are still operating, and clearance sales are planned across all locations. However, the retailer is no longer accepting gift cards. Quiz has a presence in 40 UK stores and concessions in New Look and Matalan outlets. The concessions in New Look and Matalan are not affected by the administration.

In addition, Quiz has seven concessions in the Republic of Ireland, which are part of the administration process. The company, founded in 1993 in Glasgow by Tarak Ramzan, employs a total of 565 individuals. This marks the second time Quiz has entered administration in a year, having previously done so in February 2025 before being acquired through a pre-pack deal.

Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs from Interpath have been appointed as joint administrators for Quiz. McAlinden stated that despite the challenges faced by UK high street retailers in 2026, the intention is to continue trading stores and Ireland concessions while exploring options for the business. Jacobs emphasized the importance of interested parties reaching out regarding acquiring Quiz’s assets.

Efforts are being made to support affected employees during this challenging period. Customers are advised to visit physical stores for returns and exchanges, as online orders that have not been dispatched will not be fulfilled.
