Only one individual is under suspicion for attempted murder following a terrifying mass stabbing incident on a train in Huntingdon, as confirmed by British Transport Police. The 32-year-old man, originally from Peterborough, who boarded the train at Peterborough station, is now considered the sole suspect in the Huntingdon train knife attack. Another man, a 35-year-old from London, has been released without further action as investigations revealed he was not involved in the attack. The police have recovered a knife at the scene.

Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy stated that the investigation is progressing rapidly and that they are confident there are no other individuals linked to the incident. Specialized detectives are delving into the background of the detained suspect and the events leading up to the assault.

Five of the casualties have been discharged from the hospital, while one individual remains in critical condition. This individual, a member of LNER rail staff, displayed heroism by attempting to stop the attacker on the train, as confirmed by detectives reviewing the CCTV footage.
