Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has expressed frustration over receiving unsolicited beauty advice. In a recent Instagram post, the 48-year-old leader revealed that upon returning from a trip to Ukraine, where she experienced air raid sirens due to the ongoing conflict, she was greeted with a message from a plastic surgeon offering to address a perceived flaw on her nose.
Frederiksen disclosed that she has received numerous messages critiquing her appearance over the years, particularly focusing on her teeth, hair, and a supposed imperfection on her nose. Sharing a screenshot of the plastic surgeon’s message without disclosing the sender’s identity, she firmly stated, “I’m content with my body and do not require unsolicited opinions from a male plastic surgeon.”
As the second female prime minister of Denmark, Frederiksen is currently serving her third term, solidifying her position as one of Europe’s most seasoned leaders. She has been at the forefront of maintaining a strong stance against U.S. President Donald Trump’s interests in Greenland, a semi-autonomous territory of the Danish kingdom, and has continued to support Ukraine in the face of Russia’s aggressive actions.
Emphasizing her acceptance of her body as she approaches 50, Frederiksen urged individuals to engage in more meaningful conversations rather than focusing on superficial aspects. She expressed feeling indignant at the unsolicited beauty advice and sent words of encouragement to those dealing with societal pressures regarding physical appearance.
