The popular polka-dotted sensation Angine de Poitrine marked its first appearance on American television last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, showcasing a new song. Hailing from Saguenay, Quebec, the duo has had a remarkable year, skyrocketing to fame following a KEXP session earlier this year. They have since graced the stage of the renowned U.K. show Later… with Jools Holland, where they crossed paths with Shania Twain, opened for Jack White in Toronto, and earned a nomination for the 2026 Polaris Music Prize for their album Vol. II.
During their debut on The Tonight Show, the enigmatic duo kicked off their performance with their iconic triangle hand gesture, accompanied by flashing lights in their costume heads. Guitarist and loop pedalist Khn and drummer Klek effortlessly delved into their new song, Zugzegk</em, captivating the audience with its unique sound. The unreleased track was introduced by Fallon in a manner that resembled someone spitting.
Amidst a hectic touring schedule, Angine de Poitrine is in the running for the 2026 Polaris Concert scheduled for Sept. 22. Additionally, their track Fabienk has been shortlisted for the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize.
