Olivia Rodrigo hosted her first all-women music festival, Daisy Chain Fields, in California over the weekend, featuring performances from Canadian artists Alanis Morissette and Sarah McLachlan. Inspired by McLachlan’s ’90s festival, Lilith Fair, the event also showcased acts by Chappell Roan, Doechii, and more.

During McLachlan’s set, she and Rodrigo performed the hit song “Angel” together, dedicated to the late Dolly Parton, whom McLachlan hailed as the original matriarch and goddess of country music. The duo also sang McLachlan’s “Building a Mystery” on stage.

Rodrigo surprised attendees by inviting Morissette for a duet of “Ironic,” with the crowd joining in enthusiastically. Morissette later expressed her gratitude on Instagram, emphasizing the importance of women taking the lead in performances like these.

Rodrigo had announced earlier on Instagram that all net proceeds from the festival would support women and girls’ charities. Recent reports from Billboard revealed that Daisy Chain Fields raised $10 million for organizations like Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, FreeFrom, and Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health. Melinda French Gates then matched this amount, doubling the total raised to $20 million.

In a statement, French Gates praised Rodrigo’s initiative, calling her a force for change and emphasizing the long-lasting impact of Daisy Chain Fields in empowering women and girls globally.
