Condolences are pouring in following the untimely passing of ex-NASCAR competitor Chase Pistone, who was only 42 years old.
Although the cause of death remains undisclosed, Pistone’s grieving family has requested the sharing of the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline alongside any coverage of his demise. His brother, Nick, confirmed the tragic news on social media.
Expressing his sorrow, Nick wrote on Facebook, “My young brother and closest companion is no longer with us. I am shattered and uncertain if I will ever recover from this loss. Chase, I already miss you, and I wish you peace in the afterlife. I love and miss you deeply.”
Renowned NASCAR figure Bubba Wallace also paid tribute, expressing his grief over the loss of a former racing peer. Wallace’s message highlighted the prevailing sadness in the racing community.

Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Chase Pistone was the grandson of the renowned driver ‘Tiger’ Tom Pistone, a two-time champion of the NASCAR Cup Series.
Throughout his career, Pistone achieved victory in over 80 feature races across various racing categories such as Legends, Late Model, and USAR, notably securing four Summer Shootout Champions Legends titles between 1999 and 2005.
In his NASCAR debut in 2005, Pistone competed in the Craftsman Truck Series under Green Light Racing. He participated in a total of 10 races spanning NASCAR’s three national series, predominantly featuring in the O’Reilly and Truck series, before concluding his NASCAR career in 2014.
Pistone’s sister-in-law, Phaedra, reached out to Hickory Motor Speedway, a historic racing venue in North Carolina, proposing a tribute to Chase during the upcoming weekend’s opening race. She emphasized Chase’s strong connection to the venue and the significant role it played in his life and their family’s memories.
In response, Hickory Motor Speedway expressed its commitment to honoring Chase’s memory before the Saturday night race, respecting the family’s wishes.
