A man from the UK passed away after collapsing at the summit of a mountain during a hike to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. An autopsy revealed that the man suffered a fatal heart attack. The father-daughter duo had arrived in Sri Lanka on October 16 and had explored Weligama before embarking on their hike to Ella Rock. A spokesperson from the Foreign Office expressed condolences and mentioned that support was being provided to the family.

Ebony McIntosh, 24, fell ill during her trip and was rushed to the hospital along with other affected tourists. Despite medical treatment, she tragically passed away shortly after admission.
