Bernie Ecclestone Sells Yacht Named After Daughters

Bernie Ecclestone recently sold a yacht named after his daughters, Petra and Tamara, following his wife Fabiana’s revelation that they only used it for eight days annually. Another smaller yacht owned by the Formula 1 magnate, located in Ibiza, is also currently on the market, contrasting with the “Petara” vessel situated in Croatia.

During an interview to mark his 95th birthday on Tuesday, October 28, Ecclestone confirmed the sale of the yacht, stating, “We just sold it.” Fabiana elaborated, “We only used it for eight days a year. We don’t need such a big yacht for that purpose.”

Earlier this year, Ecclestone also divested his collection of F1 cars to Red Bull co-owner Mark Mateschitz for approximately £550 million. This transaction came after settling with HMRC for over £500 million in a civil case related to undeclared assets worth £400 million, 18 months prior.

Despite these transactions, Ecclestone and his family retain a net worth exceeding £1.8 billion, as reported by Forbes. Alongside his third wife Fabiana, aged 49, and their five-year-old son Ace, Ecclestone resides in the Swiss Alps town of Gstaad.

Regarding his birthday celebration, Ecclestone mentioned, “My daughters wanted a big party. I’d rather fly with Fabi and Ace to my ranch in Brazil.” His eldest daughter, Deborah, who he shares with his first wife Ivy Bamford, recently turned 70 and visited him in Gstaad before his birthday.

Fabiana reflected on their relationship, stating, “We’ve been married for 13 years now, together for 16,” while noting the success of their parenting of Ace. She highlighted their teamwork in raising Ace and described how Bernie handles discipline calmly.

Ecclestone expressed pride in Ace’s acceptance of limited screen time and praised his son’s intelligence and potential. Fabiana added that Ace, a proficient skier from a young age, has a diverse palate, favoring sushi as his preferred dish.

In sports news, Sky has reduced the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the 2025/26 season, offering savings of £192 and access to over 1,400 live matches across various leagues, including the Premier League and EFL. Sky will also broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League games in the upcoming season, an increase of up to 100 matches compared to previous seasons.
