Former footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has exited the competition on the popular show “Strictly Come Dancing” after a dance-off against Amber Davies. Hasselbaink, who previously expressed concerns about tackling Latin dances, faced criticism from the judges, including Craig Revel Horwood, known for his tough critiques.
Despite his efforts to impress the judges, all four panelists voted to save Davies and her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin, who performed a Cha Cha Cha routine to Ariana Grande’s “Break Free.” Hasselbaink and his partner Lauren Oakley danced an American Smooth to Prince’s “Purple Rain.”
Following his elimination, Hasselbaink expressed gratitude for the experience on the show, thanking his daughters for encouraging him to participate. He praised the show’s staff and acknowledged his partner’s support, calling her “absolutely incredible.”
Lauren, in turn, expressed disappointment at the end of their journey, highlighting the fun they had and praising Hasselbaink’s progress as a dancer despite his background in football. The remaining contestants will showcase their skills in a Halloween-themed special on the upcoming weekend.
“Strictly Come Dancing” will continue airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the results show scheduled for the following day. Hasselbaink and Lauren will make their first appearance on “Strictly: It Takes Two” for an interview on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
