Former President Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell and dismissed inquiries about the Epstein files, stating his indifference towards the release of additional documents. This follows the disclosure of over 23,000 documents to Congress from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, which include numerous emails referencing Trump.
Epstein alleged in the emails that Trump was aware of the situation involving the girls, although Epstein admitted to never receiving a massage from Trump. Trump responded by claiming ignorance of the matter and questioning Epstein’s interactions with Bill Clinton.
Recently, Trump announced on his Truth Social platform his intention to direct Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate other prominent acquaintances of Epstein, including former President Clinton. Trump justified his authority to order such investigations as the “chief law enforcement agent” of the United States.
When asked about supporting the House of Representatives’ initiative to release more Epstein files, Trump expressed disinterest, labeling it a Democratic ploy and emphasizing the need to scrutinize Epstein’s associates like Reid Hoffman. Shortly after, Hoffman urged Trump to release all Epstein files for the sake of justice for the victims.
In a separate context, queried about a potential pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell, Trump indicated he had not contemplated the matter, neither ruling it in nor out. This statement was made amid ongoing discussions regarding Maxwell’s prison sentence for sex trafficking.
