The family of a teenage boy who was reportedly attacked with petrol and set on fire has provided details of his severe injuries. Jacob Thompson, 19, was targeted by a group on Cowper Street in Coonabarabran, Australia. He suffered extensive burns on 32% of his body, including his face, torso, arms, back, and legs. Due to the critical condition of his injuries, Jacob was airlifted to Sydney and put into a medically induced coma for treatment.
Currently, Jacob is receiving intensive care at Concord Hospital in Sydney. His family has been supporting him throughout this challenging time. The family described the incident as deeply traumatic, causing both physical and emotional wounds that will require a long healing process.
Authorities have arrested a 45-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man, and a 17-year-old girl in connection with the attack. The man faces charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and affray, while the woman was charged with affray. They were denied bail. The teenage girl was released pending further investigation.
