An elderly landlord reportedly fatally shot a naked intruder who forcibly entered his residence, causing the landlord to suffer leg injuries from a body-slam onto concrete.
The landlord, a 79-year-old military veteran, thwarted the intrusion after the nude individual entered a residential complex on Tujunga Avenue in Los Angeles, USA. Witnesses, primarily women, stated that the veteran quickly responded to their distress calls by confronting the intruder.
Eyewitnesses recounted observing the naked intruder lift the elderly man and violently slam him onto the hard surface, prompting the landlord to fire multiple shots in self-defense.
According to Captain Warner Castillo of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the suspect lifted the 79-year-old landlord and slammed him onto the concrete driveway. In an act of self-defense, the landlord discharged his firearm three times.
The elderly man, described by locals as kind and amiable, was rushed to the hospital after the altercation, and his current medical condition is undisclosed.
None of the witnesses who raised the alarm sustained any injuries. An anonymous bystander recalled hearing the commotion and mistakenly thinking it was a house fire upon seeing the naked intruder. The witness also mentioned hearing gunshots during the incident.
CCTV footage captured the naked intruder wandering the neighborhood before the encounter. A video from a Ring doorbell camera showed the intruder approaching a home’s front door and interacting with a nearby sign before continuing down the street.
Another witness stated that the intruder attempted to enter the property where the incident occurred upon noticing an open gate, mentioning that he had been pacing along the sidewalk before darting into the open gate.
