An altercation between a mother and her son took a tragic turn when the young boy fatally stabbed his 37-year-old mother following a dispute over his behavior. Witnesses recounted the heartbreaking moment when the mother, Caline Arruda dos Santos, asked for a final hug before being attacked by her son with a knife.

Prior to the incident, Caline had reportedly instructed her son to stop playing in the street and later warned him that she would inform a relative about his conduct. The boy then retrieved a knife from the kitchen, concealed it under his shirt sleeve, and approached his mother and elder brother before stabbing Caline in the abdomen.

Despite pleading for a final embrace, Caline was rushed to the hospital but tragically succumbed to her injuries upon arrival. Due to the boy’s age, being under 12, he was not taken into custody as he cannot be prosecuted by the Children’s Court and is currently under the care of a relative of the victim.

In an interview, the relative mentioned that the boy seemed unaware of the gravity of his actions, only realizing his mother’s death after being informed by another individual. The incident occurred in Parelheiros, south of Sao Paolo, and is being investigated by the Civil Police.

This tragic event follows another distressing case where a 17-year-old, Sarah Patrick, was charged with the murder of her mother and stepfather in the US. Patrick, who exhibited unusual behavior in court, was arrested after her younger sister discovered their parents’ bodies with gunshot wounds. She even sought help from social media influencers to solve the case, displaying conflicting emotions before her trial date in 2026.
