Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as the HBO Max streaming service has now launched in the country. Subscribers with the Sky Ultimate TV package can access HBO Max for free, enjoying popular titles like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession, and more without the usual monthly fee of £4.99, saving over £50.
Sky confirmed that customers with Sky Stream, Sky Glass, or Sky Q with the appropriate package will receive HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This service, long available in the USA, offers a vast collection of HBO dramas, including classics like The Wire and newer Max Originals like The Pitt, along with a variety of Warner Bros. films.
To start streaming HBO Max, Sky Ultimate TV customers can simply launch the HBO Max app from the homepage and follow the on-screen instructions for activation. For those not on the Ultimate TV plan, switching to it starts at £22 per month, which includes access to over 130 Sky channels, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.
Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, stated, “This marks a new era for Sky and NOW, bringing Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu together in a single subscription—a range of entertainment unmatched in the market.” HBO Max is also available to NOW Entertainment subscribers at no additional cost, integrated into the NOW app.
Non-Sky subscribers can sign up for HBO Max directly on the website, starting at £5.99 for Standard with Ads plans.
