Chilling video footage has captured the aftermath of a devastating drone attack launched by Vladimir Putin on a Ukrainian nursery. Terrified children were seen screaming and crying as they were evacuated from the destruction caused by a series of strikes at a preschool in Kharkiv. The incident resulted in one fatality and seven injuries.
The video shows fire officials rushing through the streets, carrying the distressed children to safety. Fortunately, all 48 children were successfully evacuated following the strikes on Wednesday morning. Along with the casualties, the scenes depicted a severely damaged nursery with collapsed roofs, shattered glass, and debris scattered around, including children’s desks.
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack as an affront to peace-seekers, attributing the responsibility to “bandits and terrorists” under Putin’s command. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed the direct hit on the kindergarten, leading to a fire outbreak.
Zelensky took to social media to announce the safe relocation of all children to shelters, noting their symptoms of acute stress. He emphasized the unjustifiability of targeting a kindergarten with drone strikes, describing Russia’s actions as a blatant disregard for peaceful resolutions.
The incident occurred shortly before the approval for Ukraine to utilize certain long-range missiles from Western allies was granted by Donald Trump, following the collapse of a planned meeting with Putin. Ukrainian forces confirmed the use of British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles in an attack on a chemical plant in Russia’s Bryansk region, calling it a successful operation.
The deployment of the UK-made missiles coincided with a pledge by PM Keir Starmer and other European leaders to intensify pressure on Russia’s economy and defense sector until Putin is willing to engage in peace talks. The attack using the missiles was authorized by General Alexus Grynkewich, who also serves as NATO commander, after the US shifted approval authority from Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
