A 57-year-old individual was swiftly taken to a medical facility after being struck by a falling object at Piccadilly Circus in London. An air ambulance landed in Trafalgar Square in response to the incident that occurred at approximately 2:27 pm on Coventry Street.

According to a spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police, emergency services are addressing an incident in W1’s Coventry Street following reports of a 57-year-old man being hit by a piece of masonry that fell from a building. The injured man is currently under treatment by the London Ambulance Service and will be transported to the hospital by London’s Air Ambulance. The extent of his injuries remains unknown at this point, and the situation is ongoing, with a caution for people to avoid the area.

The London Ambulance Service spokesperson mentioned that they received a call at 2:27 pm regarding a person injured in Coventry Street, London, W1. Ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner, and London’s air ambulance were dispatched to the scene. The injured man was treated on-site before being taken to a major trauma center in London.

An eyewitness recounted to LBC that the object caused the man to fall, resulting in a severe head injury with significant bleeding. The object that fell on the man has not been identified yet.

As a precaution, the vicinity has been cordoned off following the incident.
