Two individuals tragically lost their lives in a car crash involving the SUV carrying Anthony Joshua, as reported by witnesses. The British boxer sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Nigeria. The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway near Makun when Joshua’s vehicle collided with a stationary truck. It is believed that a burst tire caused Joshua’s SUV to swerve and crash. Local authorities, including the Ogun state traffic compliance and enforcement agency, are investigating the accident.
According to an eyewitness, the convoy consisted of two vehicles, a Lexus SUV and a Pajero SUV. Joshua was seated behind the driver, accompanied by another person, with additional occupants in the Lexus that crashed. Tragically, the passenger beside the driver and the individual beside Joshua died at the scene. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, confirmed that Joshua was on his way to the hospital, although details were scarce.
Joshua, who was in Nigeria visiting his parents’ homeland, recently defeated Jake Paul in a boxing match. Following the bout, where he left Paul with serious injuries, Joshua hinted at a potential future fight with Tyson Fury.
