The former UFC champion disclosed that he took a break from social media and traveled to Mexico for Ibogaine treatment, known for assisting in addiction recovery, especially for opioid dependence by alleviating withdrawal symptoms and cravings.

McGregor, who has been absent from fighting since 2021 and plans to make a comeback next summer, recounted his journey on social media, mentioning that during the treatment, he felt as though he was witnessing his own funeral. He emphasized the intensity and eye-opening nature of the experience, expressing gratitude for being shown what could have been his demise and how it would have impacted his children.

Describing a spiritual encounter during the therapy, McGregor detailed feeling a sense of divine intervention, mentioning encounters with God, Jesus, Mary, and the Archangels, ultimately feeling healed and saved.
