Conor Benn has accused his rival Chris Eubank Jr of adopting a ‘victim mentality’ following the sharing of a concerning video showing Eubank Jr receiving medical treatment in a hospital. The footage depicted Eubank Jr, 36, lying still on a hospital bed with medical equipment around him.
The video garnered sympathy from fans, with some suggesting Eubank Jr should consider retirement, especially after his defeat to Benn by unanimous decision in their rematch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Benn, however, questioned Eubank Jr’s motives for posting the video, insinuating that it was a ploy to gain sympathy.
In an interview with the Mail, Benn disclosed that he had faced his own private struggles, underscoring the challenges fighters endure behind the scenes. He emphasized the tough nature of the sport, referring to incidents where he had to battle health issues without seeking public sympathy.
Eubank Jr, in response to the video, affirmed his intention not to retire, citing ongoing health issues that had recently taken a toll on him. He expressed gratitude to his supporters and vowed to return stronger when fully recovered.
