Amanda Holden, a judge on the popular show “Britain’s Got Talent,” has provided an update on her colleague Simon Cowell’s recent head injury. Cowell, aged 66, had to step back from the Birmingham auditions for a couple of days following a fall earlier in the month.
After receiving medical treatment, Cowell returned to continue judging acts in Blackpool with a visible mark on his head. Holden revealed on Heart Radio that Cowell had explained his accident by stating, “I don’t like the word poorly, I fell down the stairs.” She humorously mentioned his tendency to avoid holding onto a banister, contrasting it with her own cautious approach.
Holden remarked on Cowell’s return to his usual critical demeanor, joking that he had also acquired a French accent. She expressed her approval of his tougher judging style, reminiscent of his role on “X Factor.”
During Cowell’s absence, former X Factor star Stacey Solomon filled in as a judge alongside Holden, Alesha Dixon, and newcomer KSI. KSI has now transitioned to a permanent judging role, taking over from Bruno Tonioli after serving as a guest panelist last year.
This incident is not the first time Cowell has faced a serious fall while working on a show. In the past, he had fallen down the stairs at his London home just before filming live X Factor shows. Cowell also had a biking accident in Malibu, California, three years later, resulting in surgery to stabilize his back with a metal rod.
