The Seattle Storm secured a 90-78 victory over the short-handed Toronto Tempo on Wednesday evening, led by standout performances from Flau’jae Johnson with 20 points and Dominique Malonga with 18 points. Jade Melbourne contributed 16 points and seven assists for Seattle, breaking a streak of 14 losses in their last 15 games. Awa Fam and Zia Cooke each added 10 points to the winning effort.
Toronto faced the game without their top three scorers, Marina Mabrey, Brittney Sykes, and Nyara Sabally, all sidelined due to various injuries. Despite the setback, rookie Kiki Rice shone with a season-high 24 points for the Tempo, while Isabelle Harrison recorded 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Seattle gained momentum in the third quarter, finishing with an 11-4 run to claim a 64-61 lead and further extended their advantage in the fourth quarter with a 9-2 spurt.
Looking ahead, the Toronto Tempo will face Las Vegas on Friday night, while the Seattle Storm will host Los Angeles on Sunday.
