Ontario-based band James Barker Band has been selected to host the largest event in Canadian country music. The Canadian Country Music Association has announced that the group, hailing from Woodville, will not only serve as hosts but will also take the stage to perform at the upcoming CCMA Awards on September 19 in Saskatoon.

Among the lineup of performers scheduled for the live broadcast on CTV and Crave are Brett Kissel, Madeline Merlo, Dean Brody, and Tenille Townes. James Barker Band is also in the running for five awards, including best album, best single, and entertainer of the year. The band has previously clinched the title of best group for two consecutive years.

Furthermore, top nominees for the event include Josh Ross and Cameron Whitcomb, each receiving seven nominations. The two artists will compete against each other in various key categories. The awards ceremony will also feature a special musical tribute to the late American country legend Dolly Parton, who passed away at the age of 80 last month.
