The first image of a deceased woman discovered in a public street has been released.

Authorities confirmed that the body found in Prestatyn, North Wales on Friday belonged to Angela Shellis, a 45-year-old resident.

A family representative described her as a “cherished daughter, sister, mother, and aunt” who will be deeply missed.

An 18-year-old male, taken into custody on suspicion of murder, is still being held by authorities.

Investigators were granted permission by the court to extend his detention as inquiries progress.

The police have urged individuals who were in the Morfa vicinity of Prestatyn near the football fields between 3:00 am and 8:30 am to come forward to assist in identifying anyone present at that time.

North Wales Police‘s DCI Andy Gibson stated: “The family is receiving support from specially trained officers and requests privacy during this tragic period.

“I appeal to anyone who was in or around the Morfa area near the football fields on Friday, October 24, between 3:00 am and 8:30 am.

“If you believe you have relevant information for the investigation, it is crucial that we identify individuals in the area during these specific times.”

DCI Gibson added: “The 18-year-old male remains in custody, and detectives are continuing their interviews.

“A warrant for further detention was granted at Mold Magistrates Court on Saturday, October 25, to allow for the male’s continued detention as the investigation proceeds.

“I urge the public not to speculate about the incident online.”
