Westlife’s Shane Filan experienced a memorable moment when he forgot the lyrics to a song during a live TV performance. The 46-year-old pop star, known for his time in the Irish boyband alongside Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, Brian McFadden, and Mark Feehily, who is currently on a break due to health issues, recently made a comeback with their new single, “Chariot.”
The upcoming greatest hits album, “25,” will feature iconic tracks like “You Raise Me Up” and “Uptown Girl,” along with the new addition, “Chariot.” Despite Mark’s absence from the lineup, Shane had to step in for him during their performance on The Late Late Show in Ireland but struggled to recall the correct lyrics, improvising instead.
During the show, host Patrick Kielty humorously pointed out Shane’s lyrical mishap, leading to a light-hearted exchange. Shane attributed the mistake to his missing bandmate, jokingly blaming Mark for the slip-up. Despite the slip-up, Shane expressed the fun of improvising and handling the unexpected situation.
Additionally, Westlife received recognition from Patrick Kielty, who presented them with a Late Late Show award, acknowledging their 25 years of contribution to the music industry and representing Ireland worldwide. In a statement, the band expressed hope for Mark’s return to the stage once he is ready and able, sharing his love and positivity with fans.
Mark Feehily, unfortunately, won’t be part of the band’s 25th-anniversary celebrations due to health challenges. The group, now performing as a trio, announced exciting plans for their anniversary, including new music, an album, special shows, and surprises for fans. They expressed gratitude for the continuous support from their fans and anticipation for celebrating their milestone together.
