“Adult Film Star Convicted of Murdering Ex-Husband”

An individual known for adult films has been convicted of murdering her former husband, who she killed after marrying her stepson. Devyn Michaels, aged 47, faces the possibility of life imprisonment for the killing of Johnathan Willette, aged 46, whose decapitated body was found soaked in chemicals at his residence.

Willette’s mother discovered his body wrapped in blankets and bloody, as detailed in an arrest report. Prosecutors alleged that the Las Vegas adult film star orchestrated the murder out of jealousy towards Willette, who had gained full custody of their two children.

During Michaels’ trial, prosecutor John Giordani cautioned the jury to brace themselves for a shocking presentation of crime scene photos, including images of the victim’s body. Michaels confessed to the police that she struck Willette with a candlestick-like object while massaging him in his bedroom, a video shown in court revealed. Subsequently, she removed his head, placed it in a laundry basket, and disposed of it in a local bin.

Michaels, who had been in an intermittent relationship with Willette and shared two daughters, married him in 2012 before divorcing in 2018. In a peculiar turn of events, she later wed Willette’s son, Deviere Willette, aged 29, in what she described as a marriage of convenience.

Deviere denied any involvement in his father’s death, refuting claims made by Michaels’ defense team. The victim’s head remains missing, with no murder weapon or dismemberment tools recovered. Michaels initially pleaded guilty to second-degree murder under a plea agreement but later retracted her admission of guilt during sentencing, leading to a first-degree murder trial where she was ultimately found guilty by the jury.

The lead prosecutor asserted that Michaels committed the murder to pursue a future with Deviere and her children, presenting a family photo as evidence. Michaels is scheduled for sentencing on January 8 and could face life imprisonment with or without the possibility of parole, as prosecutors did not pursue the death penalty.
