Suzanne Rees, aged 80, was found deceased on Lizard Island after disembarking from the Coral Adventurer during a 60-day luxury cruise. The ship left the island without Ms. Rees, who was later discovered dead in a remote area after a search was conducted.

Reports indicate that Ms. Rees went for a hike on the island and sustained serious injuries from a fall on Saturday. An investigation is now in progress to determine why she was left behind and how this oversight occurred, including allegations of a lack of passenger count before the ship sailed.

Katherine Rees, the daughter of Ms. Rees, has criticized Coral Expeditions for what she perceives as a neglectful act.
