“BT Mobile Makes a Comeback for UK Broadband Customers”

BT Broadband customers in the UK are in for a pleasant surprise as BT Mobile is set to make a comeback in the market. Following a pause on new customer sign-ups in 2023 in favor of the EE network brand, BT is now shifting gears to reintroduce BT-branded SIM deals to its existing broadband subscribers.

The specifics of the offerings are yet to be disclosed, but this move signifies BT’s aim to reinforce the presence of its well-established brand, which had taken a backseat to EE in recent years. CEO Allison Kirkby, who assumed leadership in 2024, is committed to revitalizing BT’s standing among UK households to prevent the brand from diminishing in public awareness.

Kirkby expressed the company’s intention to further invest in its brands, products, and services, following substantial network investments in recent years. The reintroduction will position BT in direct competition with major players like Vodafone and O2, as well as budget-friendly networks such as Tesco Mobile and SMARTY.

While pricing details are pending, BT plans to offer bundled packages encompassing broadband, landline, and mobile SIM services under a unified monthly billing system. Industry analyst Paolo Pescatore views this move as an effort to stay relevant in a fiercely competitive telecoms landscape, emphasizing the importance of demonstrating network capability to meet real-world demands.

Additionally, BT announced its partnership as the official telecoms provider for the UEFA Euro 2028 tournament, to be held across Britain and Ireland. Pescatore highlighted the significance of this alliance in showcasing BT’s scale, relevance, and delivery to users, households, and businesses, underscoring the unifying power of sports in building emotional connections across nations.
