Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the recent announcement of an update to the UK TV platform. This update includes changes to the channel lineup and television guide. Freeview has highlighted that certain broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.
Among the notable changes are four rebrands of existing channels. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) has been renamed That’s 20th Century, offering music from past decades and featuring iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) is now That’s 20th Century MCR, while That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) has been simplified to That’s Classics.
In addition to these rebrands, a new channel named That’s Entertainment is set to launch on Channel 75. Although program listings for this service are currently limited, more information is expected to be released soon.
Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of ongoing adjustments by broadcasters to maintain varied and current content offerings. Users are encouraged to check their TV planners for these changes. If updates are not visible, a retune can be performed by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Allow your device to automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, the recent changes are significant, making it advisable to retune devices promptly.
