Nigel Farage has seemingly concurred with David Lammy’s assessment that the rhetoric employed by a Reform MP is outdated. Acting as a stand-in for Keir Starmer during PMQs, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the “racist” language used by Sarah Pochin on TalkTV last month.
In response to a caller, Sarah Pochin, the MP for Runcorn and Helsby, expressed frustration at seeing advertisements featuring non-white individuals. David Lammy criticized Pochin’s language, deeming it archaic.
During the session, Lammy pointed out the poor performance of Kent County Council under the Reform leadership, prompting a nod of agreement from Farage. Labour MP Tristan Osborne raised concerns about the turmoil in Kent’s Reform-led council, calling for higher governance standards.
Apologizing for any offense caused, Pochin acknowledged her poorly phrased comments about the representation in adverts but stood by her view that many ads do not accurately reflect British society.
