Bulgaria has been identified as the prime destination for an affordable summer vacation this year, particularly for families. TravelSupermarket, a popular travel website, has revealed the top countries offering cost-effective options for all-inclusive sunny getaways in 2026. According to their data, Bulgaria leads the pack with an average price of £760 per person for a week-long stay. Following closely are Morocco at £852 and Malta at £862 per person for a seven-night trip.
The analysis was based on searches for family holidays conducted between October 5 last year and recently, targeting travel periods from May to September 2026. Significant price variations were observed among various sought-after destinations.
Among the 13 popular locations examined, Bulgaria stood out with a £54 decrease per person, reflecting a 7% drop compared to last summer. On the contrary, Cyprus emerged as the most expensive choice at £1,186 per person. Spain, a perennial favorite among British tourists, secured the fourth spot on the list at £888 per person, maintaining price stability from the previous year. Turkey ranked 11th with an average cost of £1,057, while Greece followed in the 12th position at £1,096.
Croatia offers the 10th cheapest option this summer, averaging £1,046 per person. Notably, the cost of a typical holiday in Croatia has decreased by 12% since the previous year, making it £136 more affordable this season.
For long-haul travelers seeking value for money, TravelSupermarket highlighted Cape Verde as the top choice at £1,247 per person, trailed by the United Arab Emirates (£1,297), the Dominican Republic (£1,664), and Mexico (£1,694).
Chris Webber, the head of holidays and deals at TravelSupermarket, expressed optimism about Bulgaria’s resurgence as a budget-friendly all-inclusive destination. He also noted that Tunisia and Morocco continue to offer great value, with Croatia experiencing a notable price reduction, benefiting families who may have found it costly in recent years.
