Addressing the issue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, she highlighted the critical situation, citing instances of famine and malnutrition among children. She emphasized the importance of expediting the delivery of aid, particularly aid provided by the UK.

Discussions between the Foreign Secretary and Saudi officials focused on securing a lasting peace post the Israel-Hamas ceasefire. Ms. Cooper emphasized the fragility of the ceasefire and the collective effort needed to ensure a just and sustainable peace. Both the UK and Saudi Arabia support a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine to coexist peacefully.

During her visit to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, Ms. Cooper engaged with volunteers to address the reconstruction of Gaza’s healthcare system. Additionally, she met with influential Saudi women for a traditional tea ceremony at the King Abdullah Financial District. In Jordan, she announced £6 million in funding for life-saving healthcare for women and discussed efforts to rebuild and maintain the ceasefire.

Ms. Cooper’s itinerary includes visits to schools, hospitals, and interactions with Palestinian security forces. She will engage with local leaders to address the ongoing challenges and support the rebuilding process in Gaza.
